<p>Hey everybody <img src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I just opened up my store with some of my personal artworks at zazzle.com, and all promotion would be very much appreciated! Also, you can find my final illustration of this tutorial on some of the products at Zazzle.com. So please check out some of the ornaments and greeting cards among other post card ideas. You can view and/or purchase my other illustrations at zazzle.com on my store Gallery. <a href="http://www.zazzle.com/fantasiart/cards+stamps?pg=2#products" target="_blank"><img title="production_gallery" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/production_gallery3.gif" alt="was, tale, kite, green, fantsy, sky, little, cartoon, girl, landscape, fairy, fantastic, environment, daydream, dream, surreal, surrealist, cute, sweet, children, box, yellow, frightened, asking, quaetion, dark, fantasia, illustrations, abstract, background, clouds, wind, illustration, sun, night, clean" width="141" height="57" /></a></p>
<p>In this tutorial I will take you through the process of creating my “Apache Warrior Portrait ” portrait  illustration. I do think, painting character portrait  is a great way to practice shading and color blending. You can have a real warrior  photograph if you want. Working from a photo is fine too, you will get truer shades and reflections from real life.  Though I&#8217;ll be coloring with a character  sketch, you can apply skills from this tutorial to any digital coloring projects that you want.</p>
<p>Tutorial details:</p>
<p>Program: Adobe Photoshop CS3</p>
<p>Difficulty: Advanced Tablet: Wacom Graphire4 4×5 USB (Blue)</p>
<p>Preview of Final Result</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_final.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3784" title="Painting-Apache Warrior _final" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_final.jpg" alt="2d, tutorial,Apache Warrior, Portrait, illustration,practice shading, color blending, real, warrior, photograph,shades ,reflections, real life,art,Adobe Photoshop, coloring,character,sketch, apply skills this tutorial any digital coloring projects" width="600" height="857" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step:1 </strong>Okay, here we start painting process. The very first step of this tutorial is to draw the base sketches for the main idea in your head, in your mind. I want you to know something about the beginning of this tutorial. This image is the portrait of a Apache Warrior character. Here this is the short story of this portrait work : he is not a real Apache Warrior.  He is a white man and he is a spy of the white man soldiers.  He disguise himself in Apache Warrior. He is thinking about. Apaches will understand who he is.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_011.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3786" title="Painting-Apache Warrior _01" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_011.jpg" alt="2d, tutorial,Apache Warrior, Portrait, illustration,practice shading, color blending, real, warrior, photograph,shades ,reflections, real life,art,Adobe Photoshop, coloring,character,sketch, apply skills this tutorial any digital coloring projects" width="600" height="706" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 2:</strong> Now the concept is important &#8211; finding the right canvas size, colors, and composition. After we decide about the sketch pose of the painting, firstly, I open a new .psd file in Photoshop. It will be vertical, and the resolution will be 150-300 ppi. I sketch at a lower resolution &#8211; around 600&#215;890 pixels long, at 72 dpi. I generally start with a lower resolution and ramp it up later when I’m detailing the illustration, enabling me to work faster and smoother. I start out with a blank, white document.</p>

<p><strong>Step 3: </strong>Create a new layer on the background. You find the button &#8220;Create a new layer&#8221; in the bottom part of the palette Layers. And, if you don&#8217;t see this palette, just press F7 on your keyboard or go to Window &gt; Layers and it will appear.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_layers.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3790" title="Painting-Apache Warrior _layers" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_layers.jpg" alt=" 2d, tutorial,Apache Warrior, Portrait, illustration,practice shading, color blending, real, warrior, photograph,shades ,reflections, real life,art,Adobe Photoshop, coloring,character,sketch, apply skills this tutorial any digital coloring projects" width="591" height="405" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 4:</strong> Adobe Photoshop is a wonderful program with great advances in its brush engine. For this tutorial I use primarily one brush and below are the steps used to create it.</p>
<p>I click on the Brush Tool (B) and choose a very thin, hard brush. As a rule, soft brushes are the blurry ones and hard brushes are more solid.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_brushes.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3792" title="Painting-Apache Warrior _brushes" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_brushes.jpg" alt=" 2d, tutorial,Apache Warrior, Portrait, illustration,practice shading, color blending, real, warrior, photograph,shades ,reflections, real life,art,Adobe Photoshop, coloring,character,sketch, apply skills this tutorial any digital coloring projects" width="600" height="483" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 5: </strong>And, now it is time is here you to choose the main colors for you scene. And here are my colors for this illustration. Open another file and save your colours. And always keep open that new file when you are painting. As you see, I am as like many artists, keep my colour palette in a separate window.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_colors.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3794" title="Painting-Apache Warrior _colors" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_colors.jpg" alt="2d, tutorial,Apache Warrior, Portrait, illustration, practice shading, color blending, real, warrior, photograph, shades ,reflections, real life, art,Adobe Photoshop, coloring, character, sketch, apply skills this tutorial any digital coloring projects, dark, fantasia, illustrations, abstract, background, clouds, wind, illustration, sun, night, Tablets,Intuos pen tablet, experience, Cintiq, interactive, pen, displays combine, advantages, natural, superior, performance Wacom's,professional pen technology,Wacom Intuos2 6×8 Graphics Tablet" width="600" height="432" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 6:</strong> After finishing the the sketch, I set the sketch layer to &#8220;multiply. To open the Layers Palette if it isn&#8217;t already on your screen, press the F7 key at the top of your keybord. Or you can open from Window/Layers.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_03.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3795" title="Painting-Apache Warrior _03" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Painting-Apache-Warrior-_03.jpg" alt=" 2d, tutorial,Apache Warrior,Adobe Photoshop, Portrait, illustration, practice shading, color blending, real, warrior, photograph, shades ,reflections, real life, art, coloring, character, sketch, apply skills this tutorial any digital coloring projects, dark, fantasia, illustrations, abstract, background, clouds, wind, illustration, sun, night, Tablets,Intuos pen tablet, experience, Cintiq, interactive, pen, displays combine, advantages, natural, superior, performance Wacom's,professional pen technology,Wacom Intuos2 6×8 Graphics Tablet" width="600" height="511" /></a></p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Hello Everyone,</p>
<p>For the past few months, I’ve been working endlessly on my first book, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Nias-Dream-Nailah-Baniti/dp/0985357444/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1346168151&amp;sr=1-4" target="_blank">Nia’s Dream</a>. Today, I am proud to announce to the public that my dream has finally come true. With the help from profound Writer, Nailah Baniti, my vision has been brought to life. On August 27th, my book was published by Mountain Creek Publications. But this is only the beginning. This book is one of my greatest inspirations. It has inspired me to dream big. This book was only but a dream and it manifested into reality. Not only have I improved my artistic ability but I have improved my storytelling ability as well. At this moment, I am currently working on my second book. I would like to thank my beloved friend Nailah Baniti for her assistance with this project. And I hope that in the future we will continue to work together. Nia’s Dream is an AMAZING tale that sprung from my imagination and now it has transformed into a children’s book.  I wish that this book reaches the highest success in the world by selling a million copies worldwide. I would appreciate the support from my fans and fellow bloggers. My book is now available at Barnes&amp;noble.com and Amazon.com Here is the book cover of  Nia’s Dream. The illustrations and Cover art was designed and created by me. The books are now available at Barnesandnoble.com and all major retail stores in America.</p>

You can view and/or purchase my other illustrations at zazzle.com on my store Gallery. <a href="http://www.zazzle.com/fantasiart/gifts" target="_blank"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3631" title="production_gallery" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/production_gallery3.gif" alt="was, tale, kite, green, fantsy, sky, little, cartoon, girl, landscape, fairy, fantastic, environment, daydream, dream, surreal, surrealist, cute, sweet, children, box, yellow, frightened, asking, quaetion, dark, fantasia, illustrations, abstract, background, clouds, wind, illustration, sun, night, clean" width="141" height="57" /></a></p>
<p>In this tutorial, we are going to mainly focus on a still life painting.  I sometimes think that still life paintings just dull and mechanical exercise things. But surely we must make practice still life paintings.  If you take a look at master works, both classic and modern, you will notice that many of their most important works are still life paintings. Drawing still life paintings an excellent exercise for the beginner students and also intermediate and advanced students.  Here is this is the final painting that I draw for this tutorial. You can create your own compositions, lighting effects, and arrangements of color. It took me around 5 hours I think.   In brief: I paint this still life painting to practice shading and color blending also and I think I really like the second final result <img src='http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>* Program: Adobe Photoshop CS3<br />
* Wacom Intuos2 6&#215;8 Graphics Tablet<br />
* Difficulty: Intermediate<br />
* Completion Time: 1-5 hours<br />
Note: I’m using Adobe Photoshop. But if you wish…you can use the other tools like..Corel Draw etc.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Candlight_-Painting-in-Photoshop_final_11.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3609" title="Candlight_ Painting in Photoshop_final_1" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Candlight_-Painting-in-Photoshop_final_11.jpg" alt="In this tutorial, we are going to mainly focus on a still life painting. " width="600" height="739" /></a></p>
<p>Then  I was not entirely  happy with the composition so  I  decided to change composition and draw  an old broken blank picture frame, I think in this way it looks more nice as we think this would be look like an old still life composition on a wall.  I&#8217;m trying to get better with composition and painting in a better way.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Candlight_-Painting-in-Photoshop_final_23.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3610" title="Candlight_ Painting in Photoshop_final_2" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Candlight_-Painting-in-Photoshop_final_23.jpg" alt="tried to make more nice picture frames not so rustic" width="600" height="685" /></a></p>
<p>Also I would like to tell you, I regard myself as an average painter and don&#8217;t pretend to know everything or even much about brushes, I keep it simple&#8230;. Painting still life is a great way to practice shading and color blending. You can have a candlelight photograph if you want&#8230;working from a photo is fine, you will get truer shades and reflections from real life. And some  Photo references are perfect but nothing beats the real thing.  If you are trying to get help for your personal painting you may have more luck at critique section. So those photos will be only a source of inspiration for your magnificent work.  You are not going to paint same of those photos. They are only for to get inspired.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Candlight_-Painting-in-Photoshop_refs.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3574" title="Candlight_ Painting in Photoshop_refs" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Candlight_-Painting-in-Photoshop_refs.jpg" alt=".... Painting still life is a great way to practice shading and color blending. " width="600" height="567" /></a></p>
<p>Now about my Canvas size, as you now a bigger canvas size is better in digital Remember, to print a4 you will need approx. 2500px 3500px canvas size.</p>
<p>For web publishing</p>
<p>it usually base the format sizing on standard paper or illustration sizes are 5×7, 9×12, 11×14, 11×17 inches. And resolution set  to 72. So if my final size is 9×12 at 72 dpi resolution, I will have to work 2 or 3 times bigger.</p>
<p>So it would be</p>
<p>600&#215;739</p>
<p>72 dpi</p>
<p>For print</p>
<p>This will required a higher resolution.</p>
<p>it usually base the format sizing on standard paper or illustration sizes are 5×7, 9×12, 11×14, 11×17 inches. And resolution set to 200 or 300 (200 to 300 dpi is best for printing resolution)</p>
<p>3100&#215;3818</p>
<p>300 dpi</p>
<p>After I finished this tutorial, I want to print  my illustration on A4 paper size. if you ask; &#8220;How do I print my final illustration On A4 Size? I study this tutorial and I draw a very nice still life painting and now I want to see my illustration on  a A4 page. What must I do?&#8221;  Successful printing depends on the size of the file you are trying to print. The size of the file is determined by the resolution you used when you took the picture. We will draw this  illustration more bigger file size and then we must arrange  it for A4 paper size.  Here this will me my final print size arrangements.  3100&#215;3537</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Candlight_-Painting-in-Photoshop_a.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3576" title="Candlight_ Painting in Photoshop_a" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Candlight_-Painting-in-Photoshop_a.jpg" alt=" After I finished this tutorial, I want to print my illustration on A4 paper size. if you ask; &quot; How do I print my final illustration On A4 Size? I study this tutorial and I draw a very nice stillife painting and now I want to see my illustration on a A4 page. " width="600" height="628" /></a></p>
<p>A4 is a document format, as a screen image that&#8217;s going to depend on the image resolution, for example an A4 document resized to:</p>
<p>72 dpi (web) = 595 X 842 pixels</p>
<p>300 dpi (print) = 2480 X 3508 pixels (This is &#8220;A4&#8243; as I know it, i.e. &#8220;210mm X 297mm @ 300 dpi&#8221;)</p>
<p>600 dpi (print) = 4960 X 7016 pixels</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Candlight_-Painting-in-Photoshop_a4.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3578" title="Candlight_ Painting in Photoshop_a4" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Candlight_-Painting-in-Photoshop_a4.jpg" alt="A4 is a document format, as a screen image that's going to depend on the image resolution, for example an A4 document resized to:" width="600" height="849" /></a></p>

You can view and/or purchase the my other illustrations at zazzle.com on my store Gallery.   Also, you can find my final illustration of this tutorial on some of the products at Zazzle.com. <a href="http://www.zazzle.com/fantasiart/gifts" target="_blank"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3631" title="production_gallery" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/production_gallery3.gif" alt="was, tale, kite, green, fantsy, sky, little, cartoon, girl, landscape, fairy, fantastic, environment, daydream, dream, surreal, surrealist, cute, sweet, children, box, yellow, frightened, asking, quaetion, dark, fantasia, illustrations, abstract, background, clouds, wind, illustration, sun, night, clean" width="141" height="57" /></a></p>
<p>Learn step by step how this digital painting was created. You will get a good understanding of how to create one page illustration images with beautiful lighting and learn techniques that will help you in many types of drawings.. You will learn advanced painting techniques such as working with custom brushes and Color arrangement with using Hue and Saturation Adjustment. In this tutorial I will describe to you the process of how this image was created. I am just going to go over my basic process without getting into anything too fancy. This tutorial is here to explain the basic coloring in Photoshop. There are various techniques but this is the one I prefer and I hope I can pass it to seamlessly to you. And now, let&#8217;s begin the lesson. You will need the Adobe Photoshop program, and a simple sketch work.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_Final.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3464" title="Painting_a _Santa Claus_Final" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_Final.jpg" alt="You will need the Adobe Photoshop proogram, and a simple sketchwork. " width="600" height="935" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Tutorial Details </strong></p>
<p>* Program: Adobe Photoshop</p>
<p>* Wacom Intuos2 6&#215;8 Graphics Tablet</p>
<p>* Difficulty: Intermediate</p>
<p>* Completion Time: 1-3 hours</p>
<p>• Photoshop CS3</p>
<p>• A sketch of the main idea</p>
<p>Note: I always saying this in al my tutorials <img src='http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> I hope you don’t mind.  I&#8217;ll tell again surely <img src='http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> I’m using Adobe Photoshop, if you wish… you can use any other  Digital Art Software, like Corel Painter or similar. You can create a the same painting using digital art software, like Corel Painter or similar.</p>
<p><strong>Step 1</strong>: In this tutorial, I wanted to show a scene a Santa claus come up with another Santa claus character and he is petrified with astonishment.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Step1_Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_main_idea_01.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3513" title="Step1_Painting_a _Santa Claus_main_idea_01" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Step1_Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_main_idea_01.jpg" alt="You can create a the same painting using digital art software, like Corel Painter or similar." width="600" height="744" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 2</strong>: I started by opening a new document in Photoshop – a 1000&#215;1424 composition due to the nature of the artwork&#8217;s subject. Also, at this stage you can start to work on a smaller sized canvas, bearing in mind that this stage is for finding the lines and composition, and a smaller canvas allows you to work much faster for the base sketch. I usually make sketches and doodles in the search for an idea for my illustrations and the best way to tell the story. I set the blending mode of the line art layer to multiply, and I lock the sketch layer. After that I quickly applied some basic colours with other layer. I use big brush strokes  step because I find it easier to control the the whole sketch.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Step2_Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_main_idea_001.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3514" title="Step2_Painting_a _Santa Claus_main_idea_001" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Step2_Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_main_idea_001.jpg" alt="mind that this stage is for finding the lines and composition, and a smaller canvas allows you to work " width="600" height="744" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 3</strong>:  I started to block in some rough color values and shapes. My goal at this stage was to set the main colors and the composition. I painted in the initial shape for the who illustration and set Santa Claus pose, as you can see in. I hide the sketch Layer also.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Step3_Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_main_idea.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3515" title="Step3_Painting_a _Santa Claus_main_idea" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Step3_Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_main_idea.jpg" alt="to use only standart brushes. I preferred using just a few very simple round brushes to make this illustration. This stage is really easy but at the same time very important." width="600" height="744" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 4</strong>:  Once we have the main lines of our drawing in a layer separate from the bottom. We place it to the top of the sketch layers that we make. For this illustrations I use only available brushes on Photoshop. You can &#8220;load&#8221; new brushes if you want. Here are my brushes for this illustration. For my painting  I am going to use only  standard brushes. I preferred using  just a few very simple round brushes to make this illustration.  This stage is really easy but at the same time very important.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Step4_Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_main_idea_1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3516" title="Step4_Painting_a _Santa Claus_main_idea_1" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Step4_Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_main_idea_1.jpg" alt=" This stage is really easy but at the same time very important" width="600" height="744" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 5</strong>:  I decide to start from the background and I remove the character Layer group. I save character file a different one and as I am thinking  that it is more efficient working out from the background. I continued to adding brushstrokes at this process, and started work on the foreground.  With repeatedly slight changes and tweaks I added some more details. I  wanted to make the top of the illustration look dark  and empty, so I reduced the light layer with eraser  brush. Here there is a yellow light come from the fireplace and there is darkness at the other part of the scene.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Step5_Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_01.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3517" title="Step5_Painting_a _Santa Claus_01" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Step5_Painting_a-_Santa-Claus_01.jpg" alt="and empty, so I reduced the light layer with eraser brush. Here there is a yellow light come from the fireplace and there is darkeness at the other part of the scene." width="600" height="744" /></a></p>

Hey everybody <img src='http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> I just opened up my store with some of my personal artworks at zazzle.com, and all promotion would be very much appreciated! Soon, I will be sharing some different illustrations in cards. So please check out some of the ornaments and greeting cards among other post card ideas. You can view and/or purchase my other illustrations at zazzle.com on my store Gallery. <a href="http://www.zazzle.com/fantasiart/gifts" target="_blank"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3631" title="production_gallery" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/production_gallery3.gif" alt="was, tale, kite, green, fantsy, sky, little, cartoon, girl, landscape, fairy, fantastic, environment, daydream, dream, surreal, surrealist, cute, sweet, children, box, yellow, frightened, asking, quaetion, dark, fantasia, illustrations, abstract, background, clouds, wind, illustration, sun, night, clean" width="141" height="57" /></a></p>
<p>Recently I was experimenting with water and glass materials in 3ds max 2010. My main objective was to get a nice looking glass and water rendering with mental ray. I saw that there are lots of good tutorials about glass+water materials for Vray but limited number for mental ray.  Meantime I got some fine results and I wanted to share this experimentation with you. I think you can get the same results with 3ds max 2009-2011.</p>
<p>To show you how I handled this particular situation I decided to create a still life scene but don’t want to create the classic apple-plate-banana scene. I wanted something different so I created an aquarium with a jelly fish, a candle for the mysterious look and some metallic eggs. I warn you from the start that this is not a modeling tutorial; it is about lighting and rendering tutorial. Therefore I kept everything simple. I hope one finds this tutorial useful for their renderings with mental ray.</p>
<p>We will be using the <em>Arch &amp; Design</em> material to create the glass+water materials. We‘ll be using two Photometric Area Lights to light the scene, one mr Spot Light for Volume shader, one Sky Light for indirect illumination and Final Gather, mr Photographic Exposure Control and Gamma Control. The scene will be in metric units. Here is the final render of the scene.</p>
<p><strong>Preview of Final Results</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/3d2dizayn_Still-ife_Render_Mental-Ray_final.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3459" title="3d2dizayn_Still ife_Render_Mental Ray_final" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/3d2dizayn_Still-ife_Render_Mental-Ray_final.jpg" alt="Recently I was experimenting with water and glass materials in 3ds max 2010" width="600" height="736" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 1: </strong>As usual set the renderer to Mental Ray (Rendering &gt; Render Setup&gt; Assign Renderer).  Adjust the scene units to centimeter (Customize &gt; Units Setup).  Set the Gamma Settings (Customize &gt; &gt;Preferences &gt; Gamma and LUT tab) as you see in the image below.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/3d2dizayn_Still-ife_Render_Mental-Ray_Step.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3468" title="3d2dizayn_Still ife_Render_Mental Ray_Step" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/3d2dizayn_Still-ife_Render_Mental-Ray_Step.jpg" alt="Preferences &gt; Gamma and LUT tab) as you see in the image below" width="400" height="659" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 2: </strong>For the background create three boxes with 38&#215;72 dimensions. Define their heights as required.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/3d2dizayn_Still-ife_Render_Mental-Ray_Step1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3469" title="3d2dizayn_Still ife_Render_Mental Ray_Step1" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/3d2dizayn_Still-ife_Render_Mental-Ray_Step1.jpg" alt="For the background create three boxes with 38x72 dimensions. Define their heights as required." width="650" height="478" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 3: </strong>For the candle holder use Line tool and Lathe modifier. Use a Cylinder and a Box primitive to create candle stick and the fire. Use TurboSmooth modifier for the smooth look.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/3d2dizayn_Still-ife_Render_Mental-Ray_Step2.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3470" title="3d2dizayn_Still ife_Render_Mental Ray_Step2" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/3d2dizayn_Still-ife_Render_Mental-Ray_Step2.jpg" alt="Use TurboSmooth modifier for the smooth look." width="600" height="667" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 4: </strong>For the jellyfish use a Hemisphere, convert it to Editable Poly, Extrude the side polys and shape them. Extrude the tentacles from the bottom polys and using Soft Selection mode gives them a wavy look.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/3d2dizayn_Still-ife_Render_Mental-Ray_Step32.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3473" title="3d2dizayn_Still ife_Render_Mental Ray_Step3" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/3d2dizayn_Still-ife_Render_Mental-Ray_Step32.jpg" alt="For the jellyfish use a Hemisphere, convert it to Editable Poly, Extrude the side polys and shape them. Extrude the tentacles from the bottom polys and using Soft Selection mode gives them a wavy look. " width="650" height="572" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 5: </strong>To create the starfish use a Cylinder and copy it four times then attach them together and weld the vertices like the picture below.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/SD_000041.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3475" title="SD_00004" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/SD_000041.jpg" alt="To create the starfish use a Cylinder and copy it four times then attach them together and weld the vertices like the picture below" width="600" height="535" /></a></p>

<a href="http://www.zazzle.com/fantasiart/gifts" target="_blank"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3631" title="production_gallery" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/production_gallery3.gif" alt="was, tale, kite, green, fantsy, sky, little, cartoon, girl, landscape, fairy, fantastic, environment, daydream, dream, surreal, surrealist, cute, sweet, children, box, yellow, frightened, asking, quaetion, dark, fantasia, illustrations, abstract, background, clouds, wind, illustration, sun, night, clean" width="141" height="57" /></a><br />
In this tutorial,  I’m going to show you how to render  realistically a plate of Turkish Delights (or you can say ‘lokum’ ) in 3d Studio Max using the SSS Fast Skin Material. Basically the Turkish Delight is a candy made of soft jelly covered in confectioner&#8217;s powder. With this foreknowledge we will create a jelly material using the SSS Fast Skin Material then with the Particle Flow we will create the powdered sugar, effect. We will use two mr Area Spot Light, one mr Omni Light with Final Gather, mr Photographic Exposure Control and Gamma Control.  And the scene will be in metric units. I kept the scene simple because adjusting the SSS shader and the particles will take our time. Here is the final render of the scene.</p>
<p><strong>Preview of Final Results</strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_with_MentalRay_Autodesk-3dsmax2010_Final.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3385" title="3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_with_MentalRay_Autodesk 3dsmax2010_Final" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_with_MentalRay_Autodesk-3dsmax2010_Final.jpg" alt="adjusting the SSS shader and the particles f Mentalray within 3ds Max Autodesk 3dsmax2010" width="600" height="465" /></a><br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong>Step 1:</strong> Set the  renderer to Mental Ray  (Rendering &gt; Render Setup&gt; Assign Renderer).  Adjust the scene units to centimeter (Customize &gt; Units Setup).  Set the Gamma Settings (Customize &gt; &gt;Preferences &gt; Gamma and LUT tab).</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk-3dsmax2010_012.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3388" title="3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk 3dsmax2010_01" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk-3dsmax2010_012.jpg" alt="Set the renderer to Mental Ray (Rendering &gt; Render Setup&gt; Assign Renderer). Adjust the scene units to centimeter" width="540" height="894" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 2:</strong> Create a box with four segments and 3x2x2 dimensions.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk-3dsmax2010_02.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3391" title="3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk 3dsmax2010_02" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk-3dsmax2010_02.jpg" alt="Autodesk 3dsmax2010 segments dimensions renderer to Mental Ray" width="350" height="341" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 3:</strong> Add a Meshsmooth, Turbosmooth and a Noise modifier  to the box. Change the Meshsmooth  modifier’s Subdivision Method  from NURMS to Classic and adjust the Smoothing Parameters from the Parameters rollout like the picture below.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk-3dsmax2010_03.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3392" title="3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk 3dsmax2010_03" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk-3dsmax2010_03.jpg" alt=" adjusting the SSS shader and the particles f Mentalray within 3ds Max Autodesk 3dsmax2010" width="420" height="421" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 4:</strong> Don’t change the <em>TurboSmooth</em> modifier. Play with the <em>Noise</em> modifier settings to get a desired soft shape.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk-3dsmax2010_04.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3393" title="3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk 3dsmax2010_04" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/3d2dizayn_Rendering_tutorial_Autodesk-3dsmax2010_04.jpg" alt="jelly material using the SSS Fast Skin Material the Particle Flow create " width="400" height="421" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 5:</strong> To create the plate go to Create panel  &gt; Shapes  &gt;  Line and draw a shape like the picture below.</p>

<p><a href="../wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_final1.jpg"></a></p>
<p>Esta pintura se va a hacer totalmente en Photoshop CS2.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>PASO 1: </strong>VISIÓN GLOBAL</p>
<p>Comencé por crear un nuevo documento en Photoshop. Debe ser de 800 x 778 pixels. Empecé con algunos bocetos rápidos sobre la idea principal. Y aquí está el boceto de mi personaje en el entorno principal.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_011.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3379" title="Create-a-Story-Book-Character_01" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_011.jpg" alt="story book character drawing" width="600" height="584" /></a></p>
<p>Así es como que se ve este dibujo: hay pequeño personaje de una niña de pie  cerca de un manzano con una manzana en la mano. Sonríe porque es feliz, aunque quizá también esté un poco triste.</p>
<p><strong>PASO 2</strong>: PREPARAR LOS PINCELES EN PHOTOSHOP</p>
<p>Aquí prepararé el único pincel que estoy usando para colorear personajes. Para mi pintura voy a utilizar sólo pinceles estándar.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_03.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1817" title="Create a Story Book Character_03" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_03.jpg" alt="childrens portraiture Adobe Photoshop, Tips ,webinar CS5 Digital Art Digital Art Academy Digital Artist Digital Paint digital painting digital painting techniques Digital Painting tutorials digital painting webinar Digital Paint Magazine Digital " width="600" height="579" /></a></p>
<p>Antes de comenzar a pintar, tendrás que preparar tu configuración de pincel. Para empezar, selecciona la herramienta Pincel, utilizando un pincel estándar como el que se muestra a continuación.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_04.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1818" title="Create a Story Book Character_04" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_04.jpg" alt=" Fascinating Digital Painting Tutorials, Deviant art,Online, create, creative ideas, more effective way of learning, Sketching in Photoshop, Adobe,products, Tablet, pen, Wacom,children’s portraiture,story books, tale,Children’ s Portrait " width="600" height="545" /></a><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>PASO 3</strong>: PALETA DE COLORES</p>
<p>Luego debemos decidir sobre los colores que vamos a usar antes de empezar la pintura. Aquí están mis colores utilizados para esta obra de arte:</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_05.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1819" title="Create a Story Book Character_05" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_05.jpg" alt=" Fascinating Digital Painting Tutorials, Deviant art,Online, create, creative ideas, more effective way of learning, Sketching in Photoshop, Adobe,products, Tablet, pen, Wacom,children’s portraiture,story books, tale,Children’ s Portrait " width="600" height="400" /></a></p>
<p><strong>PASO 4:</strong> CAPAS</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_06.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1820" title="Create a Story Book Character_06" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_06.jpg" alt="Art Digital Art Academy Digital Artist Digital Paint digital painting digital painting techniques Digital Painting tutorials digital painting webinar Digital Paint Magazine Digital " width="600" height="626" /></a><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>PASO 6:</strong> TRABAJANDO EL COLOR DE FONDO</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_07.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1821" title="Create a Story Book Character_07" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_07.jpg" alt="Sketching in Photoshop, Adobe,products, Tablet, pen, Wacom,children’s portraiture,story books, tale,Children’ s Portrait Artist, Hatice Bayramoglu, Children’ s story books illustrator Hatice Bayramoglu,childrens paintings, childrens portrait artist" width="600" height="664" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_08.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1822" title="Create a Story Book Character_08" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_08.jpg" alt="Canvas Wraps Cher childrens portraiture Adobe Photoshop, Tips ,webinar CS5 Digital Art Digital Art Academy Digital Artist Digital Paint digital painting digital painting techniques Digital Painting tutorials digital painting webinar Digital Paint Magazine Digital " width="600" height="592" /></a><strong>PASO 7:</strong> COLOREAR LAS FORMAS PRINCIPALES</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_09.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1823" title="Create a Story Book Character_09" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_09.jpg" alt=" Fascinating Digital Painting Tutorials, Deviant art,Online, create, creative ideas, more effective way of learning," width="600" height="583" /></a><strong> </strong></p>
<p>Y en este paso me gustaría cambiar el tamaño de mi archivo porque quiero añadir detalles más finos. Así que abro Imagen&gt; Tamaño de imagen, y aumento las dimensiones del archivo a 1500 × 1459 pixel</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_010.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1824" title="Create a Story Book Character_010" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Create-a-Story-Book-Character_010.jpg" alt="Digital Artist Digital Paint digital painting digital painting techniques Digital Painting tutorials digital painting webinar Digital Paint Magazine Digital " width="600" height="581" /></a></p>

<p>This image is the portrait of a Mohican Warrior character; The Last Of The Mohicans Film. The concept of this Mohican man is a Worrior prepared for peace of war with white man. I wanted this portrait  to have the spirit of a painting made on canvas, and I wanted to give it a little solemnity and represent a fantastic world which this character belongs to. This sort of world of warriors used to be represented in ancient times.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_003.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3338" title="Making of Mohican Warrior _003" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_003.jpg" alt="applications, comic books, computer,painting, free Adobe photoshop tutorials, 2d tutorials,story books,beginners, adobe how works, web tutorialsinternet painting help books, story books, character painting, Professional Pen " width="600" height="706" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 1: </strong> Using some screenshots from The Last Of The Mohicans Film  included in the brief as his clothing reference, I began my drawing.  in this film there is another character which I want to paint a portrait of him. His name is Magua and he looks like a real Mohican worrior. I do think, he is the best reference for my other character painting.  He is a real character. I always think The Last of the Mohicans is very sucesful film becuse of West Studi&#8217; performance on this film.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_0002.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3339" title="Making of Mohican Warrior _0002" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_0002.jpg" alt="create stunning light effects that look, inspiration, image, photograph, photographed ‘painting’, a quick sketch in mid-air, in a darkened room with a torch, and the image was composited with a shot of Pablo in a studio to create " width="600" height="706" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step2:</strong> I have narrowed down my creative journey into 12  stages. I hope that you pick up some useful tips and find it entertaining and informative.  The inspiration of Warrior character, came from The Last Of The Mohicans Film and  my other early character portrait paintings. I do think outstanding portrait  illustrations are filled with creativity, plan well before you start on your draft. I know what I  want to convey to my  audience through this picture, my ideas, concept, color, worldview.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_002.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3341" title="Making of Mohican Warrior _002" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_002.jpg" alt="children's educational, gameplay, storybook,Apps,Kids, on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch game illustration applications, comic books, computer,painting, free Adobe photoshop tutorials, 2d tutorials,story books,beginners" width="600" height="706" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 3: </strong>Firstly, I open a new .psd file in Photoshop.  It will be vertical, and the resolution will be 150-300 ppi. I generally start with a lower resolution and ramp it up later when I’m detailing the illustration, enabling me to work faster and smoother.  I don’t need to put a lot of detail into this stage, just define the general silhouette of the amazing Mohican worrior. Here, I started to drop rough shapes, and the basic palette of colours, onto the canvas. I wanted him to wear a very old and a brightly coloured mystical warrior trappings with a simple, brown and some blue colors.  A third layer was then created and placed between the background and line layers. This was where I began blocking in his clothing  colour.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_0001.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3343" title="Making of Mohican Warrior _0001" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_0001.jpg" alt="natural,superior, performance of Wacom's,professional pen technology,WWacom Intuos2 6×8 Graphics Tablet,Master of Arts,rendering in digital painting,Painting tutorials for Adobe Photoshop,Painting with light,Recreating the work, " width="600" height="706" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 4: </strong> As you see, I always start with the face since I find that the most interesting and I always think the eyes are very important for a character portrait painting J  I would normally work up a series of sketches first; however, now, I knew exactly what I wanted, so it wasn’t necessary in this case. After I got the general likeness in his face, I moved onto painting the rest of his body.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_004.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3344" title="Making of Mohican Warrior _004" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_004.jpg" alt="applications, comic books, computer,painting, free Adobe photoshop tutorials, 2d tutorials,story books,beginners, adobe how works, web tutorialsinternet painting help books, story books, character painting, Professional Pen " width="600" height="706" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 5:</strong> I don&#8217;t have a base sketchwork,  If  I don’t have a very clear idea of a character’s look, I just paint, and whilst I’m creating shapes I discover some guidelines that can suggest to me something which can move the design forwards. For this artwork I didn’t start with a sketch, but started painting a warrior man’s face.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_005.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3345" title="Making of Mohican Warrior _005" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Making-of-Mohican-Warrior-_005.jpg" alt="Tablets,the Intuos pen tablet experience,the Cintiq, interactive, pen, displays combine,advantages, an LCD monitor, natural,superior, performance of Wacom's,professional pen technology,Wacom Intuos2 6×8 Graphics Tablet,Master of " width="600" height="706" /></a></p>

<p>Hey everybody <img src='http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> I just opened up my store with some of my personal artworks at zazzle.com, and all promotion would be very much appreciated!
<p>With this tutorial I&#8217;ll color a new project named: &#8220;What I have in my hand&#8221;. In this tutorial I will be using Adobe Photoshop and Wacom Tablet  to create the finished result.  This tutorial is for people who know the basic of Photoshop. I&#8217;ll try to explain how I work, not every detail for sure. So I&#8217;ll talk about my techniques, some advices.  The cool thing is that, to learn from all people and then develop your own technique.  So have fun reading this tutorial. I&#8217;ll try to answer any comments and questions.</p>
<p><strong>For this tutorial I will be using these tools:</strong></p>
<p>• Photoshop CS3</p>
<p>• Wacom Graphire 3 USB (Blue)</p>
<p>• A sketch of the main idea</p>
<p>Note: I’m using Adobe Photoshop, if you wish&#8230; you can use any other  Digital Art Software, like Corel Painter or similar. You can create a the same painting using digital art software, like Corel Painter or similar.</p>
<p><strong>Preview of Final Results</strong></p>
<p><strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_final.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3283" title="Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_final" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_final.jpg" alt="character painting, Professional Pen Tablets,the Intuos pen table,experience,the Cintiq, interactive, pen, displays " width="600" height="918" /></a></strong></p>
<p>I want you to know something about the beginning of this tutorial..A few days ago, when Iwas admiring sketches and artworks on deviantART.com I get a pm from a deviant member.. She was saying “I just want to see how my character look like when you re-draw and color it.  if  I could color one of  her character? “  Then, I decide to use that character idea on one of my paintings and this tutorial. So, we did come to an agreement! Here, this is Letspetslove&#8217;s ( Indre Mockeviciute) sketch. (Credits to <strong>Letspetslove </strong>and her name is <strong>Indre Mockeviciute</strong> and this is her deviantART gallery link.<a href="http://letspetslove.deviantart.com/gallery/31237907#/d3jhny3"> http://letspetslove.deviantart.com/gallery/31237907#/d3jhny3</a> And I bet the one who knows not much about drawing (like anatomy, perspective etc.) can manage drawing some quick sketch like her.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_original_sketch.jpg"></a><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_original_sketch1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3325" title="Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_original_sketch" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_original_sketch1.jpg" alt="Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_original_sketch" width="600" height="731" /></a><br />
Now below painting is  totally based the original sketch by <strong>Letspetslove (Indre Mockeviciute</strong> <strong>) </strong>and it  looks nice&#8230;.the sketch..hmmm I just trying to see what will come out from this&#8230;. Anyway you always have to draw a few sketches to decide which one is the best.   Letspetslove &#8216;s sketchwork is the main idea but we are not using that  one for this 2d painting tutorial.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_final_01.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3318" title="Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_final_01" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_final_01.jpg" alt="The same goes for the writing – do it by hand! Try to utilise Photoshop fully using scans " width="600" height="918" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_original_sketch_01.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3285" title="Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_original_sketch_01" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_original_sketch_01.jpg" alt="comic books, computer,painting, free Adobe photoshop tutorials, 2d tutorials,story books,beginners, adobe how works, web tutorialsinternet painting help books, story books,cute characters" width="599" height="821" /></a></p>
<p>Here just a quick sketch that shows my cartoony girl  character. it doesn&#8217;t have to be clean.  Let&#8217;s not try to make it super detailed because the lines will be covered up. Okay people&#8230; here we go. I’m sure the one who know not drawings, can manage draw some little quick sketches like this. When I draw, I use a lot the CTRL+R (Flip Horizontal) to check if my sketch could be used both left or right and it still looks ok. That helps a lot with the proportion of the drawing.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_001.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3286" title="Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_001" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_001.jpg" alt="combine,advantages, an LCD monitor, natural,superior, performance of Wacom's,professional pen technology,Wacom" width="600" height="420" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 1: </strong> First of all, Let us open a new document (900 width  and 860  height  or there abouts&#8230; and 72 dpi)  (Ctrl+N or File &gt; New). A navigation bar or a page layout is best viewed without scrolling, so choose dimensions for those files that will fit within a typical browser window.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_002.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3287" title="Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_002" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_002.jpg" alt="works, web tutorialsinternet painting help books, story books,cute characters" width="600" height="420" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step2:</strong> I never keep the background  layer white. I always change it into another color. Then I add a third layer called &#8220;character paint&#8221; between the sketch and the background layer. The settings of this layer should stay normal. I&#8217;ll change the sketch layer to multiply mode so it would be transperent.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_003.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3288" title="Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_003" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Painting_What_I_have_in_my_hand_003.jpg" alt="Graphire4 4×5 USB,Master of Arts,rendering in digital painting,Painting tutorials for Adobe Photoshop,Painting with light,Recreating the work, create stunning light effects that look,inspiration," width="600" height="420" /></a></p>

<p>Here I am going to explain the process of painting which I have called “Wild Deer and the Snow Vovered mountain Painting” In this tutorial you can learn how to color a sketch.  For years I have been working hard to improve my skills on Photoshop. Today I thought I&#8217;d share some of the knowledge I have acquired over the years regarding the software. There are various techniques  but this is the one I use and I hope you can easily learn how to color your own drawings. My  tutorial will walk you step-by-step through digitally coloring in Adobe Phosotop CS3.   I am sure  that you can easily apply these techniques to your other projects.</p>
<p><strong>For this tutorial I will be using these tools:</strong></p>
<p>• Photoshop CS3</p>
<p>• Wacom Graphire 3 USB (Blue)</p>
<p>• A sketch of the main idea</p>
<p>Note: I’m using Adobe Photoshop. You can create a the same painting using digital art software, like Corel Painter or similar.</p>
<p><strong>Preview of Final Results</strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_final.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3236" title="Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_final" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_final.jpg" alt="character painting, Professional Pen Tablets,the Intuos pen tablet experience,the Cintiq, interactive, pen, displays " width="600" height="754" /></a></strong></p>
<p>As some of you may know, I start out every illustration with a simple sketchwork with tablet on Photoshop. When I was drawing this sketch I have looked lots of real photos, like snow pictures and animal photos, wild deer photos and big snow mountains. İf you wish, you can draw with hand and then scan your sketches at about 300 DPI and import into Adobe PhotoshopCS3.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_1.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3237" title="Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_1" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_1.jpg" alt="Graphire4 4×5 USB,Master of Arts,rendering in digital painting,Painting tutorials for Adobe Photoshop,Painting with " width="600" height="558" /></a></p>
<p>To draw a realistic animal, it is fundamental to have lots of reference photos. This will help you better understand the shape and the very essence of the animal. All those photographs help me visualize my Wild Deer in a snow covered forest.Okay, lets start. For whatever you are doing make sure your sketch is not on the background. I start drawing the sketch on a new layer. Of course it is also a good idea to have some reference of what kind of look you would like to achieve.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_2.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3239" title="Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_2" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_2.jpg" alt="light,Recreating the work, create stunning light effects that look,inspiration, image, photograph, photographed " width="600" height="551" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 1: </strong> To open a new file, go to the command File  and then New. if you want you can also use the hot key Ctrl+N on Windows .  (Ctrl+N or File &gt; New).. When you choose &#8220;New&#8221; from the dropdown box. You will see the New Document dialog box.  In the dialog box enter the width and height of your layout.  Here these are my settings.</p>
<p>* Width: 900px</p>
<p>* Height: 1027px</p>
<p>* Resolution: 300.</p>
<p>And then click OK.  Name you file and Save the document [File &gt; Save].  As you know Photoshop files have the extension .psd. You can maybe name it &#8220;snowy mountains.psd&#8221;.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_3.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3241" title="Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_3" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_3.jpg" alt="You will see the New Document dialog box. In the dialog box enter the width and height of your layout. " width="600" height="551" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 2: </strong>When you click OK, you willl se a new Photoshop document/ canvas will be created with a locked Background layer in the &#8216;Layers Palette&#8217;. Check out the layer Palette.  A new Photoshop document/ canvas will be created with a locked Background layer in the &#8216;Layers Palette&#8217;. If you can&#8217;t see the Layers palette then it is invisible so  go to Windows -&gt; show layers.</p>
<p><a href="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_4.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3243" title="Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_4" src="http://tuts.3d2dizayn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Animal_painting_tutorial_coloring_wild_deer_step_4.jpg" alt="combine,advantages, an LCD monitor, natural,superior, performance of Wacom's,professional pen technology,Wacom " width="600" height="551" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Step 3: </strong> Now at this step, you know how to open  Layers Palette&#8230;in a word:</p>
<p>1 &#8211; Select &#8220;Windows&#8221;</p>
<p>2 &#8211; Select &#8220;Layers&#8221;</p>
<p>As you see, when we open an existing file or when we create a brand new one, the canvas in front of us shows on its own layer.
