Step 1: Now for the mapping part. Firstly get rid of all the Turbosmooth or Shell modifiers if there is any. Then reset all the models transforms using Reset XForm Tool (Utilities panel > Reset XForm). After that add symmetry modifier for necessary parts, then collaps them to Editable Poly. To Unwrap the leg , add an Unwrap UVW modifier. Select whole faces (be sure you turned off the Ignore Backfacing checkbox ). Then give it a Quick Planer Map (here I used max 2010 because 2009 was giving problems. I just imported the necessary part to 2010 unwrap it then import it back to 2009).
Step 2: Select the top part right click and select the Break to disjoin that part.
Step 3: Select half of the front part as you see, than give it a Quick Planar Map. Do this for the other side as well.
Step 4: After that you will get something like this. Then I exported the leg to DeepUV.
Step 5: Using Lift tool break the upper leg two halves.
Step 6: Using Joint button weld the vertexes.
Step 7: Then Relax all parts.
Step 8: Then weld the lower parts as you see. Every time you do a Joint process Relax the jointed.
Step 9: Eventual, Join the two parts as you see and relax them once again.
Step 10: I used the same process for the other parts. Here is a UVW screenshot of the head, arm and dress.
